Proportional abundance (%) of the 17 most abundant genera varied with SHIME transit time in the proximal and distal colon region simulating six donors with short, medium and long self-assessed in vivo corn transit time (Table S1). Short, medium and long SHIME transit times were 8, 16 and 24h in the proximal colon and 13, 26 and 39h in the distal colon. Less abundant genera are binned into ‘Other’. Higher level taxa are to be interpreted as the unclassified genus belonging to the respective taxon
