Aging-dependent worsening of neurological outcome and heightened inflammatory response after brain ischemia. Old mice (18 months old) or young mice (8 weeks old) were subjected to 120-min MCAO. Their neurological outcome was evaluated, and blood was collected 24 h after MCAO.
