Phylogenetic tree of SemiSWEET protein sequences found in G. fascicularis-associated bacteria. Protein sequences of each semiSWEET transporter were aligned using MUSCLE v3.8.425 [69] within Geneious Prime v2021.1.1. The phylogenetic tree was constructed using the maximum likelihood method in IQ tree v1.6.1 [63] with a mtZOA + G4 model selected as the best model by ModelFinder Plus.
