The columns under total ARG abundance show mean reads per kilobase per million reads (RPKM) total ARG abundance in case and control samples, the ratio of these, and Wilcoxon rank-sum test p value for case vs control samples per study. The PERMANOVA columns show Bray–Curtis dissimilarity PERMANOVA R2 and p values for species-level taxonomy and ARG composition. The PERMANOVA model only compared cases to controls and did not account for any potential confounding variables due to the limited availability or completeness of such metadata.
