Longitudinal changes in the abundance of RNA (a) and DNA viruses (b) that correlated with COVID-19 severity (shown in Fig. 3) in feces of COVID-19 patients during disease course and after disease resolution, as compared to non-COVID-19 patients. The abundance of RNA virus was expressed in Log10CPM, where CPM denotes count per million reads. The abundance of DNA virus was expressed in normalized abundance (DESeq adjusted RPKM), where RPKM denotes reads per kilobase per million mapped reads. Statistical significance was calculated by Man-Whitney test with *p<0.05, **p<0.01, ***p<0.001, and ****p<0.0001
