FMT from aged donors does not affect either gut permeability or circulating cytokines. Mice were orally administered with a solution of FITC-dextran and plasma levels measured after 180 min. No differences were observed between FMT-adult and FMT-aged recipients. Plasma samples were also used to evaluate levels of circulating cytokines; also in this case we failed to observe any significant change of circulating pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in both group of FMT-treated mice (n = 8 mice/group)
