Hierarchical sampling design of comparisons among divergent vertebrate fish clades which include: four elasmobranch species (Chondrichthyes fishes) and five teleost species (Osteichthyes). N corresponds with the number of individual samples for each species. A total of 38 individuals were used in this analysis. Tree was built by sequence alignment of the COX1 gene of each species
