PAO pan-genome metabolic and non-metabolic model of core genes, dispensable genes, and unique genes. The core- (red), type I dispensable- (purple), Type II dispensable- (blue), cross-type dispensable- (yellow), and strain-specific (others) pathways were specifically highlighted by different colors. The main metabolic modules in Accumulibacter had different patterns and directions during AN and AE phases in the EBPR process. The carbon, electron, and energy flow of Accumulibacter pan-pathway were specifically demonstrated and discussed in two phases. The providers/consumers and the carrier form of each flow were distinguished by shapes and colors.
