Significant differences (*P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01) were detected using the Scheffe’s multiple comparison test by ANOVA. CTL: control diet without any antibiotic or prebiotic; VIRG: control diet supplemented with 16.5 g/ton virginiamycin; LXOS: control diet supplemented with 1 g xylo-oligosaccharides/kg; HXOS: control diet supplemented with 2 g xylo-oligosaccharides/kg.
